How trademark renewal works in Moldova

10 years from filing
A trademark is registered for 10 years counted from the filing date, and can be renewed as often as needed, each time for another 10 years.

The last 6 months
The renewal request is filed in the last 6 months of validity, at the normal fee.

6 more months, with a surcharge
After expiry, the mark can still be renewed for 6 months, with the fee increased by 50%. After that, protection ends.
Trademark renewal FAQs
What happens if I don't renew my trademark on time?
You still have 6 months after expiry to renew it, with the fee increased by 50%. If you miss that too, protection ends and anyone can try to register a similar mark.
Can I renew my trademark early?
Only in the last 6 months of validity. The new 10-year term starts when the old one ends, so you lose nothing by renewing at the start of that window.
How much does renewal cost?
AGEPI's fee for a regular trademark is €250 for one class, plus €50 for each extra class. Private persons and SMEs pay half. In the extra period the fee goes up by 50%.
What do you do with my email address?
We use it only for reminders about your trademark. We don't share it with anyone, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
